Kala Jones, Ph.D., brings more than a decade of experience in education and college advising to her work with students and families at Method Learning. As a College Advisor, she guides students through every stage of the college planning process, including building thoughtful college lists, preparing strong applications, identifying scholarship opportunities, and navigating financial aid. Her approach combines strategic insight with personalized support so students can move through the admissions process with clarity and confidence.
Kala has helped students earn admission to a wide range of highly selective institutions, including Ivy League and Ivy Plus universities, leading liberal arts colleges, single gender colleges, and major research universities across the United States. She is particularly skilled at helping students present their academic strengths and personal stories in a way that resonates with admissions committees while maintaining authenticity.
In addition to undergraduate college advising, Kala has experience supporting students pursuing competitive opportunities such as the Posse Foundation and QuestBridge scholarships. She also assists students with graduate school admissions, bringing a broad perspective on the academic pathways available after high school and college.
Kala’s academic background reflects her deep commitment to education and student success. She holds a Ph.D. in Teaching and Learning, an Educational Specialist degree, and additional degrees in psychology, English, and biology.
